Mathias Malzieu, born in 1974, is an accomplished French musician and author, best known as the lead vocalist of the band Dionysos, which he co-established in 1993 in Valence, located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The band was formed alongside his childhood friends Eric Serra Tosio, Michael Ponton, and Guillaume Garidel.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Malzieu has made a significant mark as a writer, with several notable works to his name. His literary contributions include "38 mini westerns avec des fantômes" (2002), "Maintenant qu'il fait tout le temps nuit sur toi" (2005), and the acclaimed "La mécanique du cœur" (2007), which was translated into English as "The Boy with the Cuckoo-Clock Heart" in 2009. Other works include "Métamorphose en bord de ciel" (2011), "Le Plus Petit Baiser Jamais Recensé" (2013), and "Journal d'un vampire en pyjama" (2016), with its English version released in May 2017 as "Diary of a Vampire in Pyjamas." His latest literary endeavor is "Une sirène à Paris" and "Le dérèglement joyeux de la métrique amoureuse."

In the realm of film, Malzieu co-directed "Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart" with Stephanie Berla, in which he also lent his voice to the character Jack. He continued his cinematic journey with "A Mermaid in Paris."

As of 2019, he is in a relationship with French photographer Daria Nelson.
