Maria Teresa Kalmet, an accomplished Estonian actress, was born on November 3, 1996, in Tallinn. She embarked on her academic journey at Tallinn Õismäe Gümnaasium, graduating in 2013. Kalmet continued her education at Old Town Education College, where she completed her studies in 2016, before pursuing her passion for acting at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. There, she graduated in 2022 as part of the 30th class of the School of Performing Arts, specializing in acting.

In addition to her studies in Estonia, Maria Teresa expanded her theatrical expertise by attending Rose Bruford College in London, where she completed her training in 2020. This international experience broadened her artistic perspective and honed her skills in the performing arts.
