Rebecca Sugar, born on July 9, 1987, is a prominent American animator, director, screenwriter, producer, and songwriter, celebrated for her groundbreaking work in animation. She made history as the first woman to independently create a series for Cartoon Network with her acclaimed show, Steven Universe. Prior to this achievement, Sugar contributed her talents as a writer and storyboard artist for the beloved animated series Adventure Time until 2013. Her innovative storytelling and artistic vision have garnered her five nominations for the prestigious Primetime Emmy Awards.
