Lembit Peterson

Lembit Peterson, born on August 18, 1953, in Tallinn, is a distinguished Estonian actor, theatre director, and educator in the performing arts. He embarked on his artistic journey by graduating from the Tallinn State Conservatory's Stage Art Department in 1971. His career spans several decades, during which he made significant contributions to the Estonian theatre scene.

Peterson's early professional engagements included stints at the Estonian Youth Theatre from 1976 to 1979 and again from 1985 to 1988, where he honed his skills and showcased his talent. He also spent three years at the Ugala Theatre from 1979 to 1982, further refining his craft.

In 1994, he co-founded Theatrum, a studio theatre that has become a vital part of Estonia's cultural landscape, emphasizing innovative and experimental approaches to performance. Throughout his career, Peterson has earned recognition for his dynamic performances and dedication to theatre education, inspiring a new generation of artists.
