Giovanni Morassutti
Giovanni Morassutti, born to an Italian father and a German mother, is a multifaceted talent in the arts—an actor, director, and cultural entrepreneur based in New York. His artistic journey began in his teenage years, where he delved into acting and directing. He honed his skills in the realistic acting tradition, studying under Susan Strasberg and later auditing at the prestigious Actors Studio in New York. Giovanni further developed his craft at HB Studio with Salem Ludwig and currently assists John Strasberg in his workshops in Berlin.
In the United States, Giovanni collaborated with prominent figures such as the renowned Ellen Stewart, the founder of La Mama e.t.c., as well as working alongside Ted Mornel, Kathleen M. Wilce, and acclaimed filmmaker Gus Van Sant. His talents were also showcased in Italy, where he graduated from the National Film School in Rome, led by actor Giancarlo Giannini, and appeared in numerous theater and film productions.
In addition to his acting career, Giovanni has conducted workshops, focusing on acting in English. His recent directorial endeavor was the theater production "Madre sin Panuelo" by Jorge Palant, which received sponsorship from the Argentine Embassy and was staged in Rome and Milan in the fall of 2015. Moreover, he performed in "For the Time Being," directed by Daniela Lucato, which was featured at the 71st Cannes Film Festival, highlighting his ongoing contribution to the arts.
