Lu Corfield
Lucy "Lu" Corfield, a talented actress hailing from Powys, Wales, has made a name for herself through her compelling performances on television. Notable for her portrayals of Freya Wilson in the long-running series *Doctors*, Ruth in the beloved *Last Tango in Halifax*, and Joyce Edevan in the gripping drama *Clink*, Lu's versatility shines across diverse roles. In 2020, she gained further recognition with her appearance in the BBC Three series *In My Skin*.
Lu was raised in Four Crosses, near Llanfair Caereinion, where she excelled academically, serving as head girl at Welshpool High School. Her passion for acting ignited during her time with the Montgomeryshire Youth Theatre, leading her to pursue a degree in English at university. After completing her A-Levels, she founded a theatre-in-education company in partnership with Amnesty International, touring for two years before moving to London to refine her craft at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).
Beyond her acting career, Corfield is a dedicated advocate for LGBTQIA rights, actively working to enhance visibility and support for the community. She has been featured in the Diversity Role Models Calendar to combat homophobic bullying in schools, is a proud Patron of Pride Cymru, and co-founded House of Pride, an organization dedicated to creating safe spaces for queer female and non-binary individuals.
