Khalid Abdalla, born in 1980, is a British-Egyptian actor renowned for his impactful performances. He gained global recognition for his role in the 2006 film United 93, directed by Paul Greengrass, which was nominated for an Academy Award and garnered a BAFTA. The film depicts the harrowing events aboard United Airlines Flight 93, hijacked during the September 11 attacks, with Abdalla portraying Ziad Jarrah, the lead hijacker. He further showcased his talent in The Kite Runner, taking on the role of Amir, and collaborated again with Greengrass in the action-drama Green Zone alongside Matt Damon.

In addition to his acting career, Abdalla serves on the board of the National Student Drama Festival. He co-founded the Mosireen ("We Insist") Collective in Cairo in 2011, a group of filmmakers and activists committed to promoting citizen journalism following the ousting of Hosni Mubarak. Within three months of its establishment, Mosireen became Egypt's most viewed non-profit YouTube channel and held the same title globally in January 2012.

Abdalla's educational background includes attending King's College School in Wimbledon, London, where he was inspired by the vibrant drama community. His peers included actor Ben Barnes and comedian Tom Basden. His early interest in acting blossomed as he directed a well-received production of Someone Who'll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness in 1998 at the Edinburgh Festival, earning five-star reviews from The Scotsman and making him the youngest recipient of such recognition.
