Nicholas Asbury

Nicholas Asbury, born on February 13, 1971, is a talented British actor and author recognized for his impactful contributions to theater and television. Asbury's distinguished performance in the Royal Shakespeare Company's complete cycle of history plays earned him an Olivier Award in 2009. His television credits include notable roles such as Winston Churchill in the BBC series *37 Days*, Mr. Angel in *Why Didn't They Ask Evans?*, and Jim in the critically acclaimed *Alma's Not Normal*, which received a BAFTA award.

Asbury's educational journey began at Hereford Cathedral School, followed by Dartington College of Arts. He debuted at The Watermill Theatre in 1998 before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he performed from 1999 to 2008. His versatility as an artist is further exemplified through his work with the all-male Shakespeare company Propeller, where he not only acted but also composed music. His experiences with Propeller's 2011/12 productions of *Henry V* and *The Winter's Tale* were chronicled in a series for The Guardian.

His literary debut, *Exit Pursued by a Badger*, details his time with the RSC and was honored with the Michael Meyer Award from The Society of Authors in 2011. Following this, he published *White Hart, Red Lion*, a travel narrative exploring the locations of Shakespeare's history plays.
