Deborah Goodrich

Deborah Goodrich is a versatile talent whose career spans multiple facets of the arts. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in modern foreign languages, focusing on French and Italian literature and history, from Lake Erie College in 1980. With a passion for performance, Goodrich initially made her mark as an actress in both film and television. Her journey continued at Miramax Films, where she served as a story editor, honing her skills in narrative development.

In recognition of her contributions to her alma mater, Goodrich was honored with the Sesquicentennial Fellow award from Lake Erie College. However, her career faced challenges following the birth of her first daughter and the writer's strike in 1988, which significantly impacted her professional path. In 1991, after her first husband, Pliny Porter, accepted a job in France, Goodrich embraced a new opportunity as a reader at StudioCanal, providing insights on English-language scripts.

Upon returning to the United States in 1993, she was offered a position in script development at Miramax, where she continued to work until the end of the decade. Throughout her diverse career, Goodrich has remained a dedicated figure in the arts, contributing her unique perspective and expertise to the film industry.
