Bob Byington, an esteemed figure in the indie film scene, made a striking entrance in 2008 with his midnight lo-fi sensation, RSO [Registered Sex Offender], showcased at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. His unique style continued to gain recognition with "Harmony and Me," a film developed during his tenure at the Sundance Lab, which premiered at Lincoln Center's New Directors/New Films series in 2009.

Byington's talent was further acknowledged in 2012 when he received the Special Jury Prize at the Locarno Film Festival for "Somebody Up There Likes Me," featuring Nick Offerman in a standout performance. This success paved the way for his collaboration with Jason Schwartzman on the cult classic "7 Chinese Brothers," released in 2015.
