Iván Cortes

Iván Cortes Lucero was born in Mexico City and grew up in a middle-class neighborhood. Renowned as a versatile Mexican actor, he has made significant contributions to film, theater, and television. At the young age of 17, he embarked on his acting journey at the prestigious University Center of Theater at UNAM, one of Latin America’s leading acting institutions. Cortes made his stage debut in the acclaimed play "El Mágico Prodigioso" (The Magical Marvelous), a classic work by Calderón.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various theater companies across Mexico, including the esteemed National Theatre Company. His film career took off with his notable performance in "Backyard," directed by Carlos Carrera. This role garnered him international acclaim and an Ariel Award nomination in 2010, among other accolades.

Cortes has honed his craft by studying under prominent figures in the industry, including Eugenio Barba, José Sanchis Sinisterra, and Fernando Piernas, as well as working with some of Mexico's most celebrated directors.
