Ágnes Hranitzky is a prominent Hungarian film editor and director, renowned for her extensive collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Béla Tarr. Her career in the film industry began in the 1970s as she worked as an editor on various Hungarian productions. In 1981, Hranitzky partnered with Tarr for the first time, editing his film *The Outsider*, a collaboration that marked the beginning of a lifelong professional relationship.

From that point onward, she became the editor for all of Tarr’s films, gaining recognition for her skillful craftsmanship. In 2000, with the release of *Werckmeister Harmonies*, Hranitzky’s role expanded as she began receiving co-director credits. Known for his signature lengthy takes, Tarr often relied on Hranitzky's presence on set to ensure seamless transitions during editing.

In 2007, she co-directed *The Man from London* alongside Tarr, which was showcased in competition at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Four years later, Hranitzky co-directed *The Turin Horse*, which premiered at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival, earning the Jury Grand Prix.
