Boots Anson-Roa

María Elisa Cristóbal-Anson, widely recognized as Boots Anson-Roa, was born on January 30, 1945. She hails from Bicol, Philippines, and is the eldest daughter of the celebrated post-war actor Oscar Moreno, often referred to as the "Robert Taylor of the Philippines," and Belen Cristobal, a descendant of the renowned Filipino historian Epifanio de los Santos. Boots received her primary and secondary education at the prestigious Assumption Convent in Manila.

An accomplished actress, columnist, editor, and lecturer, Anson-Roa has made significant contributions to Philippine entertainment and media. She gained prominence as the host of the popular television show "Dance-o-Rama" alongside her late husband, Pete Roa, whom she married in 1964. The couple had four children—Leah Cuevas, Joey, Chiqui Roa-Puno, and Ben—who have blessed them with nine grandchildren.

Following Pete Roa's passing in 2007, Anson-Roa continued to thrive in her career and personal life. In a new chapter, she became engaged to lawyer Francisco "King" Rodrigo Jr. on November 30, 2013, and they exchanged vows on June 14, 2014. Throughout her life, Boots Anson-Roa has remained a prominent figure in Filipino culture, celebrated for her enduring impact on the arts and her family legacy.
