Adel Imam is a celebrated Egyptian actor renowned for his extensive work in both comedy and drama. He was born on May 17, 1940, in Mansoura but relocated with his family to Sayeda Zeinab in Cairo during his childhood. Imam pursued a degree in agriculture at Cairo University, where he became involved in student theater productions.

His acting career took off in the early 1960s when he joined a television troupe, performing in notable stage plays like Ana wa Howa wa Heya and Al Nassabin. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he rose to fame with memorable performances in iconic stage productions such as Madrassat Al Mashaghbeen, Shahid Ma Shafsh Haga, and Al Wad Sayed Al Shaghal.

With a filmography exceeding 100 films, alongside countless television series and theatrical performances, Imam frequently intertwines comedy with social and political commentary. Some of his most significant film appearances include The Terrorist (1994), Al Zaeem (1993), and The Yacoubian Building (2006), the latter being a landmark in contemporary Egyptian cinema.
