Arnetia Walker
Arnetia Walker, born in 1956 in Columbus, Georgia, is a prominent American actress celebrated for her dynamic performances on both stage and screen. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Nurse Annie Roland in the NBC comedy series "Nurses" and as Ms. Ross in the WB dramedy "Popular."
Walker’s journey in the performing arts began at the esteemed High School of the Performing Arts in New York City, where she made her Broadway debut in Lorraine Hansberry's "The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window." She later took on the iconic role of Dorothy in the original Broadway production of "The Wiz," standing in for Stephanie Mills. In 1987, Walker starred in the Broadway revival of "Dreamgirls" as Lorrell Robinson, making history as the only actress to portray all three leading female roles in the musical.
In March 2008, she showcased her talent in the comedic film "College Road Trip," featuring Martin Lawrence and Raven-Symoné. Her filmography includes notable works such as "For Love of the Game," "Love Crimes," "Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills," and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." Walker has also appeared in the HBO film "Cast a Deadly Spell" and has had extensive television roles, including a regular part in "The Big House" and guest appearances on popular series like "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "NYPD Blue."
Arnetia Walker is married to television news anchor Elliott Francis, and together they have a son named Trevor.
