**Biography of Elizabeth Aguilar**

Elizabeth Aguilar pursued her passion for the performing arts by studying drama and philosophy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), while also honing her musical talents in theory and vocal training. Additionally, she trained for three years in various dance styles including jazz, tap, and classical at the renowned Emma Pulido's studio.

In 1977, Aguilar's striking presence led her to compete in the Miss Mexico pageant, where she earned second place. This achievement opened the door for her to represent Mexico at the Miss World contest later that year. Although she reached the top 15, her captivating charm caught the eye of television producers, propelling her into the entertainment industry. Shortly after, she made her television debut on 'Variedades de media noche,' joining notable figures such as Carmen Salinas and Lyn May.

Aguilar transitioned to film within two years, starring in 'El vuelo de la Cigüeña.' Her success continued with roles in notable films like 'Amor a la mexicana,' 'No vale nada la vida,' and 'Bonampak.' Her performance in 'Mariana, Mariana,' based on José Emilio Pacheco’s novel 'Las batallas en el desierto,' earned her an Ariel Award nomination in 1988.

In television, she showcased her talent in melodramas like 'Tania' and 'Amor ajeno,' and appeared in various entertainment shows. As a multifaceted artist, she also released two albums: 'Elizabeth Aguilar' in 1989 and 'Ahhrebatadora' in 1991. In 1984, Aguilar made history as the first Mexican woman to grace the cover of Playboy’s Aztec edition, solidifying her status as a prominent sex symbol of the 1980s.
