Karl Geary

Karl John Geary, born on May 31, 1972, is an accomplished Irish-American actor and bar owner renowned for his diverse contributions to the entertainment industry. Originally from Dublin, Geary relocated to the United States at the age of 15. He eventually secured a green card through a visa lottery designed for undocumented Irish immigrants, later becoming a naturalized citizen.

In the realm of acting, Geary made notable appearances in Madonna's provocative "Sex" book and has been featured in several acclaimed television shows and films. His credits include memorable roles in the iconic series "Sex and the City," the biographical film "Hysteria – The Def Leppard Story," and the classic Shakespearean play "Hamlet" (2000). Additionally, he showcased his talent as a writer and actor in "Coney Island Baby" (2003). Geary’s film work continued with a role in the 2008 horror movie "The Burrowers," where he played the character Coffey.

Beyond his acting career, Geary is also known for his entrepreneurial spirit. He owns a popular bar named Scratcher, located in downtown Manhattan. Prior to this venture, he co-owned the original Cafe Sin-é, a small yet vibrant venue on St. Mark's Place in the East Village, where he famously worked alongside the late musician Jeff Buckley.
