John O'Mahony is a seasoned freelance actor with an impressive career spanning over forty years, showcasing his talent from local village halls to prestigious venues such as Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe, the Old Vic, and the renowned West End. His extensive touring includes performances across the UK and Ireland, as well as international engagements in notable locations like the Gasteig in Munich and Megaron in Athens. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a diverse array of directors and theater companies, bringing a multitude of productions to life.

O'Mahony has a passion for new writing, Shakespeare and his contemporaries, and classical Greek theatre, as well as a deep appreciation for music-theatre. He is the founder of The Hungry Grass, a project-based company focused on producing and touring innovative new works, while also delving into the fusion of music and theatre. The company's inaugural production, PORK BELLIES, received critical acclaim, being hailed as “one of the best pieces of theatre seen on the small-scale circuit for a number of years” at the Brighton Festival.
