Seo Kang-joon, born Lee Seung Hwan, is a versatile South Korean actor, model, and singer who gained prominence as a member of the boy band 5URPRISE. After completing his education at Sanbon High School, he pursued an associate's degree in Acting from Dong Seoul University. To support his studies, he initially worked as a part-time model.

In 2013, Seo was selected to be part of 5URPRISE through Fantagio's innovative "Actor’s League," a program dedicated to discovering new acting talent. The group, unlike typical idol bands, began their journey in acting, debuting in the web drama "After School: Lucky or Not," where they also contributed to the soundtrack with the single "Hey U Come On."

Seo's breakout role came in 2014 when he starred in "Cunning Single Lady," earning him the Best New Actor award at the 7th Korea Drama Awards. That same year marked his official singing debut as the lead vocalist of 5URPRISE with their first single album, "From My Heart." The group expanded their reach with a Japanese debut in 2015 but eventually shifted focus to individual acting careers.

After the group's disbandment in March 2020, Seo enlisted for mandatory military service, serving from November 2021 until May 2023. Currently, he is represented by Man Of Creation and continues to thrive in the entertainment industry, showcasing his talents in various acting projects.
