Dina Eastwood
Dina Marie Ruiz, widely recognized as Dina Eastwood, is an accomplished American journalist, news anchor, and actress, best known for her previous marriage to the iconic actor and filmmaker Clint Eastwood.
Her television career includes co-hosting the popular hidden camera show Candid Camera from 2001 to 2004, and she gained further fame as the star of E!’s reality series Mrs. Eastwood & Company in 2012, which provided an intimate look into her personal life and family dynamics.
Born in Castro Valley, California, Dina is the daughter of Michael Ruiz, a math teacher and wrestling coach, and Mary Lou Ruiz, who has German, Irish, and English heritage. Michael Ruiz, who was adopted, has a diverse background, with Hawaiian, Japanese, African American, and Native Hawaiian ancestry. Dina grew up in Fremont, California, where her father worked in education.
After completing her high school education at Mission San Jose High School, she pursued her interest in broadcasting, starting at Ohlone College in 1983, where she served as an anchor for Newsline on Ohlone College Television. She later attended Arizona State University and graduated from San Francisco State University in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications. In 2017, she furthered her education by earning a master’s degree in creative writing from San Jose State University, showcasing her dedication to storytelling both on screen and in written form.
