Kevin Willmott, born on August 31, 1959, is a distinguished American filmmaker celebrated for his impactful storytelling that often centers on African American experiences. His notable works include the acclaimed films *Ninth Street*, *C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America*, and *Bunker Hill*, which reflect his commitment to addressing complex social issues.

In 2009, Willmott released *The Only Good Indian*, a poignant exploration of Native American children subjected to the harsh realities of Indian boarding schools and the process of forced assimilation. Following this, in 2014, he delved into sports history with *Jayhawkers*, chronicling the journey of Wilt Chamberlain and the legendary 1956 Kansas Jayhawks basketball team, highlighting their cultural significance.
