Jüri Lumiste
Jüri Lumiste, born on July 16, 1957, in Tartu, Estonia, is a distinguished actor and director known for his significant contributions to the Estonian theater scene. He completed his secondary education at Tartu 1st Secondary School in 1975, subsequently enrolling in Tartu State University to study mathematics. In 1979, he graduated from the Hermaküla studio, marking the beginning of his artistic journey.
Throughout the 1980s, Lumiste expanded his craft by attending workshops across Russia, while the 1990s saw him further honing his skills in Türkiye, Finland, and Denmark. His international training continued with experiences in Japan and Germany from 1991 to 1992. Notably, he served as the drama director of the esteemed Vanemuine theater from 1993 to 1999, where he made a lasting impact on the artistic community.
In his personal life, Lumiste shares a partnership with Ülle Veermäe, and together they have one child. He also has two children from previous marriages, including a son with Helena Merzin.
