Shep Gordon
Shep E. Gordon is a prominent American talent manager, film agent, and producer, renowned for his influential role in the entertainment industry. Born in 1946, Gordon earned his Bachelor’s degree in sociology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1968, after which he relocated to Los Angeles, California.
His Hollywood journey began that same year when he met iconic figures such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Alice Cooper, quickly securing the position of Cooper's agent. Gordon's creative instincts significantly shaped Cooper's theatrical performances, contributing to the band's distinctive and eerie image through innovative publicity stunts, including the infamous live chicken incident. Over the years, he expanded his roster to include stars like Anne Murray, Blondie, Teddy Pendergrass, and Luther Vandross.
In addition to his talent management career, Gordon has made substantial contributions to film as a producer, with credits on notable projects like *The Duellists* and *Kiss of the Spider Woman*. He also founded one of the first independent film production companies in the United States, Alive Films.
Gordon played a crucial role in the rise of celebrity chefs, championing culinary talents when they were relatively unknown.
