Christos Politis, born Christos Piatoulakis on December 27, 1942, in Heraklion, Crete, was a celebrated Greek actor whose career spanned theater, television, and film. His artistic journey began after graduating from the Drama School of the National Theatre in 1965 and debuted in Yannis Fertis and Xenia Kalogeropoulou's production of "Ten Little Negroes" in 1966. Over the next three decades, he graced the stage in more than 45 theatrical productions, collaborating with esteemed troupes, including those of Titika Nikiforakis and Kostas Mousouris.

Politis made his cinematic mark between 1968 and 1974, appearing in 18 films, including his notable roles in "Saint Nektarios: The Protector of the Poor" and winning the Best Supporting Actor award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival for "The Girl of 17." He became a recognizable figure on television starting in 1973, with significant roles in series like "Queen Amalia" and "Aphrodite," but his most defining role came in 1991 with "I Lampsi," where he portrayed “Iago Drako” for 14 years, solidifying his place in the hearts of audiences.

After a lengthy hiatus from film, Politis made a return in 2022 with "Broadway," showcasing his enduring talent. He passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving behind a rich legacy in Greek performing arts.
