Laura Huguette Smet, born on November 15, 1983, is a distinguished French actress known for her notable lineage as the daughter of legendary rock star Johnny Hallyday and acclaimed actress Nathalie Baye. In a touching tribute, her father recorded the song "Laura" in 1986, penned by Jean-Jacques Goldman, celebrating her birth.

Initially aspiring to become a theatrical agent like her godfather, Dominique Besnehard, Smet shifted her focus to acting and began her formal training in theater with Raymond Acquaviva in 1999, shortly after leaving school.

Smet's acting career took off in 2002 when director Xavier Giannoli cast her as Charlotte, a young woman battling cancer, in the film *Les corps impatients*. This poignant performance earned her a nomination for the César Award for Most Promising Actress. The following year, she further showcased her talent in Claude Chabrol's adaptation of Ruth Rendell's *The Bridesmaid* (La Demoiselle d'Honneur).

In recognition of her burgeoning talent, Smet received the prestigious Prix Romy Schneider in 2004. She continued to build her filmography with roles in *Le Passager de l'été* (2006), directed by Florence Moncorgé-Gabin, and as Caroline in Pascal Thomas's 2007 film adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel, *L'Heure zéro*. Laura Smet's career reflects her deep-rooted passion for acting and her ability to captivate audiences.
