Michael Tarn
Michael Tarn, born on December 18, 1951, is a distinguished British actor renowned for his portrayal of Pete in Stanley Kubrick's iconic film, *A Clockwork Orange* (1971). Notably, Tarn was the youngest member of the gang in the movie, being just 16 or 17 years old during filming, while his co-stars were mostly in their late twenties.
Following his role in *A Clockwork Orange*, Tarn featured in John Mackenzie’s film *Made* (1972) and starred in prominent productions such as *It's A Lovely Day Tomorrow*, directed by John Goldschmidt, and took on the titular character in *Zigger Zagger*, helmed by Ron Smedley. He also appeared in various television series, including a notable role in *Where There's Brass* for Yorkshire Television. However, his agent's decision to negotiate him out of that series marked a turning point, leading to a significant decline in his on-screen opportunities.
Over the next two decades, Tarn made sporadic appearances in projects like *Crimewatch* and *The Knock*, with his last role being in the 2000 film *Shooters*, directed by Colin Teague, alongside notable actors such as Emily Watson and Gerard Butler. In addition to his film and television work, Tarn enjoyed a successful theater career, collaborating with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre on acclaimed productions such as *Sticks and Bones* and *City Sugar*. In recent years, he has transitioned into freelance directing and drama education, currently residing in Spain.
