Peter Scanavino

Peter Scanavino, born on February 29, 1980, is a talented American actor recognized for his diverse roles in film and television. His acting career began in 2005, and since then, he has accumulated numerous minor roles, gaining prominence through performances in notable productions such as "Deception" (2008), "The Good Wife," and "The Blacklist."

He made his television debut with a guest appearance on NBC's crime-drama series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," portraying the petty criminal Johnny Feist in the fifth-season episode titled "Diamond Dogs." Additionally, he appeared as a suspect, a graphic designer, in the 2009 episode "Just A Girl in the World" of the original "Law & Order."

In 2013, Scanavino featured in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" in the Season 14 episode "Monster's Legacy" as Johnny Dubcek. That same year, he showcased his comedic talent in the independent romantic comedy "Mutual Friends," directed by Matthew Watts.

Scanavino’s breakthrough came in 2014 when he joined "SVU" as Dominick Carisi Jr., affectionately known as Sonny. Initially recurring, he became a series regular in the fifth episode of Season 16. His character, described by Executive Producer Warren Leight, adds a fresh dynamic to the team as an inexperienced yet eager detective. Most recently, he appeared in Netflix's 2020 anthology series "Social Distance," playing a father alongside his real-life son, Leo Bai-Scanavino.
