Jeremy Rifkin

Jeremy Rifkin, born on January 26, 1945, is a prominent American theorist known for his insights into economics, society, and technology. As a prolific author, he has penned 21 influential books that explore how scientific advancements affect the economy, labor markets, and the environment. Some of his notable works include *The Green New Deal* (2019), *The Zero Marginal Cost Society* (2014), *The Third Industrial Revolution* (2011), *The Empathic Civilization* (2010), and *The European Dream* (2004).

Rifkin is best recognized as the chief architect of the Third Industrial Revolution (TIR), a comprehensive sustainability strategy designed to tackle the intertwined challenges of economic downturns, energy demands, and climate change. This initiative received formal backing from the European Parliament in 2007 and has been adopted by various European Commission agencies.
