Karin Schubert
Karin Schubert, born on November 26, 1944, is a notable German actress whose career spans several decades. She began appearing in films in 1970 and made a significant shift to adult films during the 1980s.
Her early filmography includes roles in the Spaghetti Western *Compañeros* (1970) and Gérard Oury’s *La folie des grandeurs* (1971). In 1972, she featured in Edward Dmytryk's *Bluebeard* and Yves Boisset's *L'Attentat*, and also starred in the sex comedy *Ubalda, All Naked and Warm* alongside Edwige Fenech. Schubert ventured into adventure films, teaming up with the Italian actor George Eastman in *Tutti per uno...botte per tutti* (1973), a take on the Three Musketeers. She continued to diversify her roles in films like *Rudeness* (1975) and as a Russian agent in *Missile X: The Neutron Bomb Incident* (1978).
Her role in the popular film *Black Emanuelle* (1975) led to collaborations with director Joe d'Amato, and she starred in *Emanuelle Around the World* (1977) as Cora Norman. Facing career decline in the mid-1980s and personal challenges, including a troubled marriage and her son’s struggles with addiction, Schubert began posing for adult magazines, ultimately transitioning to hardcore pornography in 1985.
After appearing in 24 adult films, she retired from the genre in 1994, but faced severe mental health issues, including two suicide attempts. Despite these challenges, her early contributions to cinema remain part of her lasting legacy.
