Germain Adolph "Gerry" Chiniquy (June 23, 1912 – November 22, 1989) was a prominent American animator renowned for his influential contributions to the animation industry, particularly during the Golden Age of American cartoons. He began his career in the early 1940s when he joined the animation team of Friz Freleng at Warner Bros. Chiniquy played a key role in creating dynamic dance sequences that became a hallmark of Freleng’s animated shorts.

Due to the industry practice of not crediting individual animators, Chiniquy and his colleagues often found creative ways to insert their names into the backgrounds of the cartoons. For instance, his name appears in "Bugs Bunny Rides Again" (1948) as "G. Chiniquy, Blacksmith" painted on a rooftop. He also made a notable cameo in the live-action segment of "You Ought to Be in Pictures" (1940), where he was seen directing a scene.

After Freleng established DePatie-Freleng Enterprises, Chiniquy continued to excel, eventually being promoted to director. He led the production of several iconic animated shorts, including those featuring the beloved Pink Panther and the quirky duo of The Ant and the Aardvark. Gerry Chiniquy’s legacy is marked by his creative innovations and significant impact on the world of animation, leaving an enduring imprint on the art form.
