Karunakaran

Karunakaran is a prominent actor in the Tamil film industry, recognized for his compelling character roles. He gained significant attention with his portrayal of Arumai Pragasam in the 2013 film *Soodhu Kavvum*, which marked a turning point in his acting career. Following this success, he appeared in notable films such as *Jigarthanda* and *Yaamirukka Bayamey*, further establishing his presence in the industry.

Before embarking on his acting journey, Karunakaran graduated as a chemical engineer from SASTRA University and worked as an IT professional at Accenture. His foray into acting began when his friend, director Nalan Kumarasamy, invited him to participate in a short film for the reality show *Naalaya Iyakkunar*. This collaboration led to Karunakaran's involvement in *Nenjuku Neethi*, which won the top prize that season. He also had brief appearances in two films directed by Sundar C.

Karunakaran's first significant role came in 2012 when he played Vijay Sethupathi's friend in *Pizza*, prompting him to leave his corporate job and pursue acting full-time. His performance in *Soodhu Kavvum* received critical acclaim, particularly for his involvement in the popular song "Kasu Panam Thuttu," which opened the door to numerous opportunities. His work in *Yaamirukka Bayamey* was also highly praised, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
