Dorothy Stratten (February 28, 1960 – August 14, 1980) was a prominent Canadian model and actress who gained fame in the late 1970s. She made a significant mark in the modeling industry as she was named Playboy's Playmate of the Month in August 1979 and later honored as Playmate of the Year in 1980. Stratten was notably the second Playmate born in the 1960s, following Lee Ann Michelle.
Stratten ventured into acting, appearing in three comedy films, showcasing her talents beyond modeling. She also made guest appearances in at least two episodes of popular U.S. television shows, further establishing her presence in the entertainment industry.
Tragically, her life was cut short at the young age of twenty when she was murdered by her estranged husband and manager, Paul Snider, who subsequently took his own life on the same day.
