Andrea Jaurrieta
Andrea Jaurrieta Bariain, born in 1986 in Pamplona, Navarra, is a notable Spanish filmmaker whose work reflects her innovative approach to storytelling. She pursued her education in Audiovisual Communication at Complutense University of Madrid, further honing her directing skills at ESCAC and studying dramatic arts at the William Layton Lab.
Jaurrieta began her career creating impactful short films, including *Entresuelo* (2008), *SED* (2009), *Todos acabaremos solos* (2011), *A pleno sol* (2012), *Los años dirían* (2013), and *Nuestras pájaros vuelan solas* (2016). Her passion for storytelling led her to successfully crowdfund her debut feature film, *Ana de día* (2018), featuring Ingrid García-Jonsson, which garnered her a nomination for the prestigious Goya Award for Best New Director.
Her sophomore feature, *Nina* (2024), premiered at the 27th Malaga Film Festival, where it received the Critics' Award.
