Chris Pallies
Christopher Allan Pallies, more famously recognized in the wrestling world as King Kong Bundy, was an American professional wrestler, comedian, and actor. He gained significant fame in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) during the 1980s and 1990s. Notably, Bundy was a main event participant at WrestleMania 2 in 1986, facing Hulk Hogan in a steel cage match for the WWF Championship. He also played a part in WrestleMania XI in 1995, becoming the fourth opponent in The Undertaker's legendary 21-match undefeated streak. Known for his massive stature, late WWF commentator Gorilla Monsoon famously referred to him as the "Walking Condominium." Following his departure from WWF in late 1995, Bundy continued his wrestling career in various independent circuits throughout the U.S.
In April 1997, he made headlines again by joining a faction called "Camp Casanova," managed by Kenny Casanova. During a match against "the Seven Foot Tall" Primo Canera III, a dramatic moment occurred when Bundy’s signature moves caused the ring to collapse. His rivalries with wrestlers like "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka and Doink the Clown became notable attractions in the northeastern independent wrestling scene. By 1999, Bundy clinched the AWA Superstars of Wrestling Heavyweight Championship and continued to perform across the country, earning acclaim as a crowd favorite.
Bundy also ventured into acting, featuring in commercials and making guest appearances on "Married... with Children." Born on November 7, 1955, in Woodbury, New Jersey, he graduated from Washington Township High School in 1973. In July 2016, he was part of a class action lawsuit against WWE regarding long-term injuries sustained by wrestlers, although the case was dismissed in September 2018.
