Knut Risan
Knut Risan (February 19, 1930 – February 1, 2011) was a distinguished Norwegian actor, celebrated for his extensive contributions to stage and voice acting. Hailing from Trondheim, Risan made his theatrical debut at the National Theatre in 1956, where he remained a key figure until 1998. Throughout his illustrious career, he also made notable guest appearances at esteemed institutions like the Norwegian National Opera, Den Nationale Scene, and Riksteatret.
Risan is particularly remembered for his captivating performances in classic productions such as "Reisen til julestjernen" and his memorable voiceover work in "Tři oříšky pro Popelku," which has become a Christmas tradition in Norway.
A prolific voice actor, Risan lent his talents to numerous Norwegian dubs of beloved Disney films. His notable roles included Mr. Snoops in "The Rescuers," Happy in the 1994 re-dub of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," the titular character in "Robin Hood," Basil of Baker Street in "The Great Mouse Detective," King Triton in "The Little Mermaid," and Tod in "The Fox and the Hound."
In his personal life, Risan was married to Astrid Folstad. His legacy continues to influence the performing arts in Norway, celebrated for both his stage presence and his impactful voice work.
