Amrit Kaur
Amrit Kaur is a talented actor and writer who has been honing her skills since earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from York University in 2015. Currently, she is furthering her artistic journey by studying under renowned coaches Michele Lonsdale-Smith and Stephen Park at the Lonsdale Smith Studio in Toronto. Amrit is passionate about the arts, frequently engaging in creative activities at the studio, reading plays, and volunteering at the South Asian Women’s Centre.
In addition to her dedication to acting, she is also an emerging playwright, currently developing her debut play, Hummingbird, with mentorship from Marjorie Chan as part of Cahoots Theatre’s TCR Hothouse Program. Amrit draws inspiration from a diverse array of performances, citing Charlize Theron's portrayal in Monster, Aamir Khan in Lagaan, and Cynthia Erivo's role as Celie in Broadway's The Color Purple as some of her favorites.
Beyond her artistic endeavors, Amrit enjoys traveling and dreams of creating and sharing meaningful art with fellow artists around the globe. Her commitment to her craft, combined with her community engagement and creative exploration, positions her as an inspiring figure in the contemporary arts scene.
