Maceo Smedley, born on February 7, 2007, in Houston, Texas, showed early signs of talent when he signed with Pastorini Bosby Talent at just five years old. His career took off quickly, landing his first national commercial in October 2012, which led to a series of local and national appearances that made him a recognizable face in the industry.
In 2015, Maceo gained significant attention when he was cast in WGN America's critically acclaimed series *Underground*. Portraying a young slave named James, he shared the screen with notable actors Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Aldis Hodge, under the direction of Anthony Hemingway. This poignant role, depicting the struggles of a child living in pre-Civil War America, contributed to the show's 16 award nominations.
