Jacky Nercessian, also known as Nersessian (Armenian: Ժաքի Ներսեսյան), was born on November 16, 1950, in Saint-Étienne, France. Of Armenian descent, he is a prominent French actor recognized for his dynamic performances across film and television. One of his memorable roles is that of Apkar in the film "Mayrig," directed by Henri Verneuil.

Nercessian initially pursued a career in theology, graduating with the intent of becoming a pastor in England. However, he later shifted his focus to acting, where he has made significant contributions to both cinematic and theatrical productions. Notably, he portrayed Mustafa Ismael Faruki in "Long Journey," which earned the Golden Lion for Best Feature Film at the Venice International Film Festival in 2004.
