Solána Imani Rowe, born on November 8, 1989, is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter better known by her stage name, SZA (pronounced /ˈsɪzə/ SIZ-ə). She has made a notable impact on modern R&B music, thanks to her introspective lyrics and a distinctive sound that blends various genres.

SZA first gained recognition with her independently released EPs, See.SZA.Run (2012) and S (2013). These projects led to her signing with Top Dawg Entertainment in 2013, marking the release of her third EP, Z (2014). Her debut studio album, Ctrl (2017), infused with elements of rock and jazz, received both critical acclaim and commercial success. It garnered four Grammy Award nominations in 2018 and became the second longest-charting R&B album by a female artist on the U.S. Billboard 200. Following this success, SZA engaged in numerous collaborations, including her hit single "All the Stars" with Kendrick Lamar in 2018, which achieved top-10 status in both the U.S. and UK, earning nominations for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award.

In 2022, SZA released her second studio album, SOS, which showcased her versatility across different genres like rock, hip-hop, and pop. The album dominated the Billboard 200 for twelve weeks and produced several top-10 hits, including her first global chart-topper, "Kill Bill." SZA made her acting debut in the comedy film One of Them Days (2025) and has received multiple awards throughout her career, including five Grammy Awards and a Brit Award. In 2024, she was honored with the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
