Sami Inkinen
Sami Inkinen is a passionate advocate for health, particularly concerning the risks posed by sugar and its association with diabetes. To promote this cause, he initiated the Fat Chance Row project, which saw him and his wife undertake a remarkable rowing journey from California to Hawaii in the summer of 2014. This grueling expedition spanned 2,750 miles and was completed without any external support.
In addition to his advocacy work, Sami is a distinguished athlete, having secured the title of triathlon age group world champion. He boasts an impressive Ironman personal record of 8 hours and 24 minutes, alongside completing the prestigious Hawaii Ironman race seven times.
Sami’s academic background is equally impressive. He holds a Master of Science in engineering physics from the Helsinki University of Technology and pursued further education with an MBA from Stanford University. Prior to his current endeavors, he worked as a radiochemist at a nuclear power plant, applying his scientific expertise in practical settings.
Currently residing in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife and two daughters, Sami finds joy in nurturing a small vegetable garden—his definition of luxury amid a busy life of advocacy and athletic pursuits. His journey reflects a commitment to health, fitness, and environmental stewardship, making significant contributions to both the wellness community and the field of science.
