Leonid Parfyonov

Leonid Parfyonov is a distinguished Russian journalist, news presenter, and television producer, celebrated for his captivating documentary series. Rising to prominence through his work at NTV, he served as the channel's Producer General from 1997 until 1999, during which he played a pivotal role in shaping its programming before the network came under the control of Gazprom Media.

From December 2004 to December 2007, he held the position of Editor-in-Chief at Russky Newsweek, the Russian counterpart of the renowned Newsweek magazine. Parfyonov's contributions to journalism extend beyond traditional reporting; he is a prominent advocate for civil rights and currently serves on the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights.
