Tamara Desni (October 22, 1913 – February 7, 2008) was a prominent German-born British actress known for her captivating performances in both stage and film. Born Tamara Brodsky in Berlin, she was the daughter of celebrated actress Xenia Desni, who had gained fame in the silent film era after emigrating from Kiev to Germany prior to the Russian Revolution.

Desni's artistic journey began with ballet training in her youth, leading her to perform on stage and in various German films. At a young age, she married a dentist, but the marriage ended in divorce before she made her mark in London. In 1931, she debuted in the musical "White Horse Inn," quickly followed by a lead role in "Casanova," which showcased the music of Johann Strauss Jr.

Her film career blossomed in 1933 with the release of "Falling for You," and she continued to act in films until 1950. Notable works from her filmography include "Dick Barton at Bay," "The Torso Murder Mystery," "Fire Over England," and "Hell's Cargo."

Tamara Desni's health declined in her later years, and she passed away as a widow on February 7, 2008, in Valence d'Agen, France, at the age of 94. Her legacy remains as a testament to her contributions to the entertainment industry.
