Joe Dorsey
Joe Dorsey, a prominent actor, embarked on his acting journey in the early 1970s, making his debut with The Mean Machine in 1974. His breakthrough came with the iconic role of the avaricious "Parks Supervisor Kittridge" in the 1976 blockbuster Grizzly, a performance that remains etched in the memories of audiences. Following the success of Grizzly, Dorsey found himself in a variety of supporting roles throughout the late '70s, featuring in films such as The Lincoln Conspiracy (1977), Wise Blood (1979), and The Prize Fighter (1979). His portrayal of "Coach Spinks" in The Great Santini (1979) further solidified his reputation.
As the 1980s unfolded, Dorsey continued to shine with roles in Hopscotch (1980) and WarGames (1983). He balanced his acting career with personal time for golfing and family vacations, until he was cast as a scientist in the sci-fi hit Brainstorm (1983), where he formed a close friendship with Natalie Wood, whose tragic passing during filming deeply affected him.
Dorsey’s filmography continued to expand with notable works like Real Genius (1985), Club Paradise (1986), and the war drama Bat*21 (1988). In the 1990s, he appeared in Pet Sematary II (1992) and had an uncredited role in To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar (1995). Collaborating with his relative Alexander Dorsey in Killing Midnight (1997), Joe remains connected to the film industry through family ties, including actress Sandra Dorsey. He is also involved in Broadway productions and currently resides on the coast of Colón, Republic of Panama.
