As the sixth employee to join the company, Smith played a pivotal role in the creation and development of the acclaimed series VeggieTales, where his creative input helped shape its unique storytelling style. Additionally, he served as a director for the animated series 3-2-1 Penguins!, further showcasing his versatility in the animation industry.

His extensive experience in the field culminated in his production role for VeggieTales Live! Sing Yourself Silly, marking one of his last credited projects with Big Idea.
