Shawn Levy
Shawn Adam Levy (born July 23, 1968) is a prominent Canadian filmmaker and actor, known for his diverse contributions to film and television. He is the driving force behind 21 Laps Entertainment and has directed films that collectively have grossed an impressive $3.5 billion globally.
Levy started his career in television before making a name for himself in the early 2000s with a series of successful comedy films. Notable titles from this era include *Big Fat Liar* (2002), *Just Married* (2003), *Cheaper by the Dozen* (2003), and *The Pink Panther* (2006). His most acclaimed work came as the director of the beloved *Night at the Museum* trilogy, which ran from 2006 to 2014. In the following years, Levy directed several popular films such as *Date Night* (2010), *Real Steel* (2011), and *The Internship* (2013), alongside developing various comedy pilots for television. He also served as an executive producer on the ABC sitcom *Last Man Standing*.
In 2016, Levy became an executive producer for the hit Netflix series *Stranger Things*, directing episodes throughout its four seasons and the upcoming limited series *All the Light We Cannot See* (2023). His recent collaborations with Ryan Reynolds include directing *Free Guy* (2021), *The Adam Project* (2022), and the highly anticipated *Deadpool & Wolverine* (2024), which has achieved record-breaking success, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
