Marcin Dorociński
Marcin Grzegorz Dorociński, born on June 22, 1973, in Milanówek, Poland, has established himself as a prominent figure in film, television, and theater. With a career spanning several decades, he is recognized for his compelling performances in notable films such as *Pitbull* (2005), *Reverse* (2009), *Rose* (2011), *Jack Strong* (2014), *Hurricane* (2018), and *Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One* (2023). Additionally, he gained international acclaim for his roles in acclaimed TV series like *Spies of Warsaw* (2013) and *The Queen's Gambit* (2020).
Dorociński grew up in a modest village, Kłudzienko, where he initially aspired to be a professional football player until an unfortunate leg injury redirected his path. Encouraged by a history teacher to explore his acting talent, he enrolled at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy, graduating in 1997. His early career included various odd jobs and minor television roles until his breakout performance in *Pitbull*, which earned him the Zbyszek Cybulski Award.
He is a two-time Polish Film Festival winner for his roles in *Reverse* and *Rose*, the latter of which also garnered him the Best Actor Award at India's International Film Festival. Dorociński's portrayal of Soviet chess champion Vasily Borgov in *The Queen's Gambit* further solidified his reputation.
He is married to scenic designer Monika Sudół and is a father to three children, including a son, Stanisław, and a daughter, Janina.
