Lakshmi Ramakrishnan is an accomplished Indian actress and director, primarily known for her work in Tamil cinema. She embarked on her cinematic journey with a supporting role in the Malayalam film *Chakkara Muthu* in 2006, directed by A. K. Lohithadas, who also utilized her home for filming. After residing in the Gulf from 1985 to 2005, where she engaged in various programs for women and children, she returned to India and transitioned into directing, producing six short films.

Her debut in Tamil cinema came with *Pirivom Santhippom* (2008), where she portrayed the mother of Sneha's character. Ramakrishnan garnered critical acclaim for her intense performance as a mother seeking vengeance in Mysskin's *Yuddham Sei* (2011), a role that notably saw her shave her head, demonstrating her dedication to the craft.

In addition to her film career, Lakshmi has made her mark on television, starring in the series *Aval* on STAR Vijay and hosting the reality show *Solvathellam Unmai* on Zee Tamil. In 2012, she directed her first feature film, *Aarohanam*, which earned a Special Jury Award at the 7th Vijay Awards.
