Ashley Jensen
Ashley Jensen, born on August 11, 1969, in Scotland, is a celebrated actress recognized for her remarkable contributions to television and film. She gained widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Maggie Jacobs in the critically acclaimed series Extras (2005–2007), where her performance earned her an Emmy Award nomination. Jensen also captured audiences as Christina McKinney in Ugly Betty (2006–2010) and has taken on the lead role of Agatha Raisin in the ongoing series Agatha Raisin since 2014, as well as DI Ruth Calder in Shetland (2023–present).
Her acting journey began with a significant role in the 1993 BBC drama Down Among the Big Boys, where she played Clare Donnelly, the daughter of a notorious criminal. Following this, she showcased her talent in various roles, including Rosie McConnichy in May to December, and Fiona Morris in EastEnders. In 2005, her role in Extras not only earned her British Comedy Awards for Best Television Comedy Actress and Best Newcomer but also positioned her as a standout figure in British comedy.
