Jason Orley is a talented American writer and director hailing from Michigan. Raised alongside two older brothers, he developed an early passion for film and television while attending Lahser High School in the Detroit area, where he participated in a film production program. His dedication to the craft led him to NYU’s summer film program, further honing his skills.

Orley gained invaluable experience in the industry through internships, notably working with acclaimed filmmaker Nancy Meyers on projects such as the romantic comedy *It’s Complicated* (2009). He later made a cameo appearance in *The Intern* (2015), showcasing his versatility in both behind-the-camera and on-screen roles.

His directorial debut, *Big Time Adolescence* (2019), showcased his unique voice as both a writer and director. The screenplay, which he penned in his early twenties, made it onto the prestigious 2014 Black List and was well-received at its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where it contended for the Grand Jury Prize in Drama.

Orley's follow-up project, *I Want You Back* (2022), is a romantic comedy featuring stars Charlie Day and Jenny Slate. Beyond films, he has contributed to television, writing for shows like *Graves* on Epix and developing pilots across various platforms.

Drawing inspiration from his own experiences, Orley’s work often explores themes of friendship and identity during adolescence, achieving a balance of authenticity and emotional resonance that allows his characters to feel real and relatable.
