Rex Reason, born on November 30, 1928, in Berlin, Germany, to American parents, was an accomplished actor who left a significant mark on the film and television industry. Raised in Los Angeles, Reason initially did not envision a career in acting; however, his mother inspired him and his brother, Rhodes Reason, to explore the craft. His acting debut took place at Glendale's Hoover High School, where he starred in "Seventh Heaven." At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1946 to 1948. After completing his military service, he pursued his passion for acting at the Pasadena Playhouse and engaged in local theater productions.

Reason's cinematic journey began with a leading role in the 1952 film "Storm Over Tibet." In 1953, he signed with Universal-International, where he gained prominence for his portrayal of Dr. Cal Meacham in the iconic science fiction film "This Island Earth" (1955). His television career flourished with notable roles in the western series "Man Without a Gun" (1957-1959) and the drama "The Roaring Twenties" (1960-1962). Standing tall at 6'2", with striking looks and a memorable baritone voice, Reason decided to step away from acting in the early 1960s to venture into real estate. He experienced three marriages and had two children from his first union. Rex Reason passed away on November 19, 2015, in Walnut, California, at the age of 86, succumbing to bladder cancer.
